I waited for an hour in traffic to travel 1 mile to get to three tarts. So, I was pretty excited that there were still some left an hour to closing. Unfortunately, I had to try the ones with raisins, which were the only ones left. So, I had to join the raisin loving heathens and plow on. I have to say not bad though with the addition though I prefer without...  they really didn’t make for a negative experience.

The presentation at the start is pretty classic with the crust looking like a pre-filled mold type. Pretty standard in terms of flavor, taste not necessarily buttery maybe even a little bland in terms of flavor of the center. It does have a very nice consistency somewhere between the gooey drippy tart and the firm custardy chart. This is where I think this specific butter tart finds its home. Nothing much of the crust on top of the filling, but, the consistency is enough that it tastes gooey and nice, but not dripping. Overall it holds together; a good bite and sizable butter tart with a flavorful center. Buttery, sweet, and not overwhelming... crust could go a little ways, but overall a decent tart and worthy of the trip.
