For lovers of the show Schitts Creek, this is a must do. Settled right in the center of three of the show's landmarks; Annina's actually served as the catering for the production team during filming. During covid the show's stars promoted and kept alive the shop though their glowing endorsements. Though butter tarts are a focus, the shop offers a variety of baked goods and small home made food choices.

Annina’s butter tarts, at first look, are a little bit larger than your average butter tart; not as large as some of them come but a little bit more than the two or three biter that you normally expect. Biting in you immediately noticed the thickness of the crust, which actually looks thicker from the outside due to the slight rim on top of it. The bite of the crust is decent; not too hard not too soft, crumbly but doesn’t collapse all over your shirt. The filling is more of a custard style texture. The flavor of the butter is good maybe slightly more than expected but thats really about all I have to say about it. It wasn't show stopping but it was good.

Custardy normal on top. There isn’t really a crust on top of the filling. There is a slight discoloration or color difference of the top, but not really texture or consistency difference. The filling is adequate, a little more pungent than your average tart and the whole thing definitely holds together. Even after two or three bites you’re not leaking everywhere. The filling is staying stable. The crust is firm and crumbly and the little bit more dense. Still buttery, it's not overwhelming in terms of consistency. It holds it together. When eating this puppy you get the feeling that you’re having something that has some weight and consistency to it. Overall an average to slightly higher than average butter tart.
